The Cutest Way to Learn to Draw, Sophie’s Drawings, Gets an Update!

[] Buenos Aires, Argentina – Independent Game developer Emibap has released the first update for his step-by-step drawing iPad app, Sophie’s Drawings 1.1, with many improvements that make the App easier to use and adding more cute content. This App made for children aged 3 to 7 which analyzes every stroke and brings the drawings to life comes now with extra help, easier strokes and more settings for parents, such as disabling the email feature.

Sophie’s Drawings first version was released on December 12, 2012 as a Full and Lite version. The full version came with 14 drawings in 3 scenes: An initial “Hello”, “The Sea” and “The Farm”. Each drawing consists in a group of strokes that children have to follow, with some accepted margin of error. When the drawing is finished, it comes alive as a reward. Kids get to draw basic shapes, a pig, a dog, a whale, and an octopus, among other drawings that magically begin to move.

It was well received, but some parents commented that it had very difficult drawings which led to frustration. So this new release made the drawings more children friendly and added the “extra help” feature that shows start / end markers for each stroke and a clearer outline. Another addition was the ability to draw without having to lift the finger from the screen. And a new drawing, the Rectangle Man, was added to the first Scene.

“I’m really loving making this App and I’ll keep adding new features and content” said Emiliano Angelini, the man behind this unipersonal studio, who was inspired by his 3 year old (now 4) daughter, Sofa, to make this App. He plans to make it compatible with iPhone/iPod in the following update. The App has really cute graphics and music, and most of the sound effects were made by the “real” Sophie.
