[prMac.com] Salt Lake City, Utah – PixelSplincher today is excited to announce SpriteDance version 2.0, a major upgrade to the popular iPad animation app. SpriteDance 2.0 lets iPad artists animate graphics or text over any video in their Photo Album. The revolutionary new Digital Tracking system makes tracking moving targets in video as easy as pointing. The new ‘dope sheet’ in SpriteDance 2.0 shows all the animation keyframes for multiple sprites, giving animators overview and control of even complex animations.
And SpriteDance 2.0 presents a more polished user experience in other ways, with numerous visual and workflow improvements, faster rendering and exporting and more robust upload to YouTube using the newest APIs from Google. SpriteDance 2.0 boasts an even larger library of sprites and still backgrounds, though it is simple to import your own sprites and still of moving backgrounds. “SpriteDance 2.0 will delight iPad owners from kids to CEOs, from editors to educators. Our unique Digital Tracking system is amazing. Just use your digit to point and drag. Tracking over video has never been this fun” enthuses PixelSplincher CTO and SpriteDance Lead Developer Frances Dose.
Not just a magical creature or atmospheric phenomenon, a sprite is a small image, stored with transparency information (called an ‘alpha channel’) which hides the portions of the image you don’t want to see. SpriteDance loads sprites in standard 32-bit RGBA PNG format, the same format created by its sister app, SpriteCutter, and compatible with Apple’s SpriteKit. Review copies, screen shots available upon request.
