Song Guru-Music Quiz 1.1 for iOS-Tracks from iTunes Library in 11 Genres

[] Oulu, Finland – Oulu, Finland – Webstone today is pleased to introduce Song Guru – Music Quiz for iOS, their new app that provides a comprehensive music quiz for users. The app is especially challenging and extensive because it uses Apple’s iTunes Store, rather than the user’s individual library, as the source for its songs. Categorized by genre, the types of quizzes vary and feature popular as well as less common choices for each style. The user can purchase new songs, share results through Facebook, and compete for high scores in the Game Center with just one tap.

Feature Highlights:
* Unlimited song base from iTunes library
* Features genre options of Alternative, Blues, Classical, Country, Dance, Electronic, Hip Hop/Rap, Jazz, Pop, Reggae, and Rock
* Multiple choice format, one tap to answer
* Easy song download option takes user to iTunes store
* Compete through Game Center and easily view Leaderboard
* Share scores on Facebook

Upon the start of each new game, players choose a genre from the extensive list. Song Guru then generates a continuous playlist of songs in that genre for the game. Each song plays for a maximum of thirty seconds, all the while displaying a multiple choice format with the title of the song playing and three others in that genre. Users can tap the song they believe to be the correct answer at any point during the thirty seconds.

If they choose correctly, players are rewarded with a blue checkmark and a display of their current score. Incorrect choices take users to a screen with a large X, but there is no reduction in the total score for wrong answers. The game ends when the player is unable to answer in the thirty seconds of music that are played. As users are able to play on, their score will increase continually with more and more correct answers.

Since Song Guru uses iTunes as a database for its song library, players will find themselves introduced to a wide variety of new songs that they may want to add to their own personal library. After each song, the player is given the choice to go on, or to download the song that has just played. With one easy tap, players are taken to the song on the iTunes store app for a quick download.

Players can tap the Facebook icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen above their score to share their results on the web. Through this social networking feature players can compare scores and compete with friends and family online. Song Guru is also played through Game Center, allowing all users to compete on the Leaderboard. The opening screen of the app allows the users to check the hi-scores of other players and view their standing in the game.

“The extensive iTunes database allows players to really test their music knowledge, along with introducing them to great, new songs in their favorite genres,” says Niko Kiviniemi of Webstone.
