Sketch Synth 2 for iPad: AudioVisual Synthesizer to Shape + Sculpt Sound

[] London, United Kingdom – Shape of Sound today announces Sketch Synth 2 v1.2 for iPad, an update to its AudioVisual Synthesizer that lets users shape & sculpt sound by drawing. With the latest update users get the option of using a construction kit to create their own pad instruments with animated backgrounds and the ability to pull in all their own sounds. Sketch Synth 2 goes beyond what other pad based instruments offer by allowing users to create soundscapes crossfading between up to 10 loops and layering 4 fx channels to produce complex and delicate soundscapes with simple swipes on the touchpad. Requiring no keyboard skills or knowledge of synthesizer settings, Sketch Synth lets users of any age create sophisticated, multilayered, multicolored, sounds and shapes. The update allows easily customizable videos, sounds, colors, f/x, and sound samples.

Feature Highlights:
* Shape and sculpt sounds with a selection of pad-based instruments
* Draw sounds and draw on effects to give your sounds geometric character
* See, hear, and record sounds in real time
* Import/export sound samples and video
* Create in Loop or Draw mode
* Ideal for users/musicians of any age or experience

Sketch Synth is designed for novices as well as experienced musicians. For the novice user, Sketch Synth allows them to create sounds by drawing on a grid and they can see and hear their own creation in realtime. The app comes with six preset instruments which are pre-programmed foreground and background video and sound settings so that a user can get going with immediately. For the experienced musician, Sketch Synth 2 offers something new – in the new blueprint mode a musician can load in their own loops and customise the instrument to create a new instrument which they can use to rapidly experiment with the arrangement of the sounds, bringing in different loops at different times in order to work out how they will turn their loops into a song.

Included Preset Pads:
* Punisher – dark wobblers with dubstep drums
* Noise Valley – a range of windy and tranquil noises to sculpt
* Psycho Trance – fast upbeat arpeggiated synth sounds
* Falling Grace – darker trance patches
* Chip Tune – chirpy acidic sounds
* The Kraken – murky underwater sounds

Apps4iDevices magazine rated Sketch Synth 2 as a Killer App 4/4 and said “I really love it, for its ease of use, for the fun that I had when I tested it. A killer App for everybody, from beginners to Pro musicians!”

“Sketch Synth 2 comes with a selection of pad based instruments, each containing an XY pad that controls 8 loops and 4 effects, possibly best referred to as a pad-based rompler,” stated Alistair de B Clarkson of Shape of Sound Limited. “The whole premise of Sketch Synth 2 is to make it easy for you to draw sounds and draw on effects to give your sounds geometric character without having to learn anything complicated, just push buttons and draw sound.”
