Phoenix Bird 1.0 Free for iOS – 3D Flying Game with 70 Levels of Play

[] Jerusalem, Israel – Imagination Apps today is pleased to introduce Phoenix Bird 1.0 free for iOS, their new flying game where players guide a glorious Phoenix as he soars through rings in the sky, collecting jewels & power-ups, and surveying great monuments below. The mythical bird responds to the sensitive tilt-controls, which rely on the accelerometer in every iDevice. Reminiscent of the giant winged creature in the blockbuster film, Avatar, the game allows players to guide their Phoenix over 7 photorealistic, 3D worlds including the Taj Mahal in India, Westminster Palace in England, The Colosseum in Italy, and New York’s Statue of Liberty. A universal app, optimized for display on all iOS devices, the game produces breathtaking, HD graphics and animation, especially on the new iPad.

Seven Worlds of Phoenix Bird:
* The Taj Mahal, India
* Westminster Palace, England
* The Colosseum, Italy
* Alaska Range, USA
* Opera House, Australia
* Nassau, The Bahamas
* Statue Of Liberty, USA

With morphology and coloring similar to the Great Leonopteryx, the aerial predator with whom Jake successfully connects at the end of Avatar, the Phoenix is a very large bird with a wingspan of about 75 feet. Each of the 7 gameplay worlds contains 10 levels of play, and players must complete every level to unlock the next world. Each level consists of an aerial course of large vertical rings in the sky, all of which the bird must successfully fly through in the proper sequence. A long, twisting line of gemstones marks the correct route, and players can gather gems and power-ups as they fly.

A highly realistic, 3D flying game that is played in landscape orientation, the player has a slightly distorted, wide-angle view from directly behind the Phoenix as he flies. This wide-angle view emphasizes the depth and detail of the scene in the air and on the ground. The animation of the bird’s powerful wings and graceful flight is smooth and convincing, and the detail of every small feather, bone, eye, and talon is impressive. The detail below the bird is equally striking, as very small structural features of buildings, monuments, and mountains are clearly visible.

Tilt control is extremely sensitive, and it is easy to under or over-bank during turns. Oversteering through hoops also prevents the player from getting a good angle of attack on the next hoop, as players quickly discover. The magnificent view onto the famous monuments below can be very distracting, as the player is quickly lost in admiration of the classic lines of the Colosseum or Taj Mahal below. Players can gain super-speed and gem-attracting magnet power-ups, and may also prove their expertise by proudly upgrading the color of their bird and the vest he wears.

Feature Highlights:
* 7 beautiful, fully 3D Worlds
* 10 levels per world
* Game Center leaderboards
* Post to Facebook and Twitter
* Use the accelerometer the fly

According to Wikipedia, “The Phoenix is a mythical, sacred fire bird that can be found in the mythologies of the Arabians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Chinese, Turks, and Indians. It is described as a bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1,000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young Phoenix or Phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.”

“Enjoy the scenery and collect as many gems as you can,” commented Zeevi Fisher of Imagination Apps. “Pass through the gates and hit boost gems to propel you forward at superbird speeds! Use the magnet powerup to collect tons of gems – then buy even more powerups, unlock Worlds, and personalize your Phoenix!”
