MyBirthday Calendar features a simple calendar layout that allows users to view the month, as well as the picture and name of friends who have birthdays on the selected day. Days with birthdays are distinguished with a small dot, and users only have to click on a day to see to whom each belongs.

Along with the calendar option, the option of a timeline layout is available. This consists of a long line of bright pictures and names along the right side of the screen. The timeline is labeled with dates, and the brightest pictures are those with birthdays closest to the current day, while those further away become darker. Users can scroll through the timeline to view future birthdays, always able to return quickly to the current day through the red arrow in the upper left hand corner. The app conveniently clumps friends with identical birthdays together for easy management.

On launch, the user simply clicks the button allowing for sync with Facebook and the user’s phone contacts. As the user logs in to Facebook, the app will ask a privacy question, allowing the user to decide who will see certain notifications on the network. It is here that the user can set the app to automatically send e-cards or birthday messages to friends, helping especially busy users to fulfill their social obligations to friends and family.

MyBirthday can also send friends birthday messages through email, SMS, and phone calls. The app automatically includes eight birthday cards along with twenty special wishes the user can utilize.

Birthday alerts can be customized in the Settings menu, where users can turn them on or off, as well as choose between three distinct alert sounds. The alarms can be set for the day of, one, two, or three days before a birthday occurs. Users can also choose what time of day they wish to be reminded about birthdays with a handy, sliding control in the menu. Twitter, Facebook, and other means of sharing are also possible here.

With simple pictures and calendar animations, MyBirthday Calendar provides an elegantly simple birthday greetings solution. Its background and bright colors draw the user in and make tracking birthdays effortless and enjoyable.
