About Maureen Shannon
Contributing over 15 years of experience, Maureen leads global brand protection for Rivian Automotive. Responsibilities at prior in-house roles for several fin-tech companies included designing and implementing strategies for global brand protection, monitoring and enforcement, and executing a multi-company rebrand, as well as building the patent and trade secret programs. Maureen has also launched startups ranging from an e-commerce platform to an Internet service provider. As outside counsel, Maureen managed brand protection initiatives and IP litigation for a variety of clients. In her roles, Maureen received recognition for her contributions and execution, ease of knowledge-sharing, her focus on positive team building, integrity, and her ability to manage the dynamics of a rapidly changing environment with a focus on crafting solutions.

Rivian is an American electric vehicle maker and automotive technology company. Founded in 2009 by RJ Scaringe, the company develops and produces vehicles, products, and services related to sustainable transportation. The Rivian electric SUV R1S and electric pickup R1T debuted at the LA auto show in November, 2018. The vehicles will be available in summer of 2021 and will be semi-autonomous, delivering a driving range of around 400 miles, and are designed for on-road and off-road adventures.
