[prMac.com] Wehr, Germany – Nominari today is pleased to announce matchTag 1.5 for OS X, an update to its utility that allows users to locate the correct track info and selectively revise it for every song in their Music Library. matchTag achieves this via Apple’s iTunes Match subscription service, which replaces all songs uploaded to iCloud that were not purchased on the iTunes Store with 256-Kbps, AAC, DRM-free originals. When re-downloaded to the Mac, matchTag searches as many iTunes Stores as necessary to locate the correct metadata, and it then matches and revises selected track info and cover art, including Name of the song, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, and more.
Almost every personal iTunes Music Library and Songlist contains songs where the metadata has been damaged, or the track never included metadata because it was not purchased on the iTunes Store. Finding the correct title of the song, the artist, and other info can be a laborious, sometimes impossible task. matchTag for OS X is the automatic solution, accessing the metadata of more than 26 million songs available through iTunes. Once a non-iTunes track has been replaced in iCloud via iTunes Match, matchTag can add, replace, or revise any or all track info contained in metadata, including cover art.

* Ideal utility for users of iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match
Apple’s iTunes in the Cloud has proven extremely popular, with more than 85 million users of the free service. It gives users access to all their music on every iDevice they own, simultaneously. According to Apple, “Now you can download music, movies, and TV shows you’ve previously purchased to all your devices. When you buy from iTunes, iCloud stores your purchase history. So you can see what you’ve bought – no matter which device you bought it on. You can access your purchase history from the iTunes Store on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV. Since you already own the songs, albums, movies, or TV shows in your purchase history, you can tap to download them to any of your devices. And whenever you play a movie, TV episode, podcast, iTunes U lesson, or audiobook on one device, all your other devices will automatically remember where you left off.”
Apple’s iTunes Match, introduced in late 2011, has also found great success. Apple says, “With iTunes in the Cloud, the music you buy from the iTunes Store automatically appears on all your devices. And for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. iTunes Match is built right into iTunes on your computer and the Music app on your iOS devices. It lets you store your entire collection in iCloud, even music you’ve imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. When it’s in iCloud, it’s available on all your devices. So you can enjoy all your music anywhere, anytime – on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV.”
“matchTag makes it quite easy to update the title information in your iTunes music collection and will amend or replace the relevant title information in your music files,” commented Jens Lampe of Nominari.
