[prMac.com] Tokyo, Japan – iA Labs GmbH today released iA Writer 4.0 for iOS and Mac. This version offers the ability to include images, tables, and texts as blocks of content in plain-text documents. Images dragged into the editor on Mac are added to iA Writer’s Library, and a plain-text reference is created in the document. On iOS, images can also be added from the camera. Tables made from comma separated value files (.csv) can be referenced in a document the same way as images. They are rendered in the Preview and exported PDF files.
Other text files can be referenced like this too. Chapters can be written into standalone files and then assembled into a manuscript for the whole book. The flexibility of plain-text allows these content blocks to be ordered, stacked, and chained with ease.
“It will be great for NaNoWriMo,” said Oliver Reichenstein, founder of iA, “Since it now supports the organization of complex text bodies.”
In spite of its growing modularity, iA Writer’s premise is simple: A clean writing environment that treats text as text and makes writing delightful.
