[prMac.com] Rome, Italy – Germany is traditionally known as the land of the Autobahn. The Germans also have a tradition that on the night of December 6 the figure of St. Nicolas comes to the homes of children and leaves some sweets and a small present or two for the kids.
What does this have to do with fuel consumption monitoring? When independent developer Olaf Greck was a child, growing up in Germany, he really liked that tradition. Now as a grownup he wants to keep that spirit going. So on Dec. 6, Fuel Log Evo, his Fuel Consumption Tracking App is free during the Nikolausi-Special! The theme of the Nikolausi-Special is: “don’t spend the money on the app but get your kids a small surprise”.
The Nikolausi-Special took place in 2010 and 2011 and it really made some kids happier. On December 6, during the Nikolausi-Special 2011, Fuel Log Evo reached the first place in the Finance section of the App store, ranking higher than PayPal and several large banks. A great sig: despite the financial crisis kids are still seen as being more important than money.
So on December 6, 2012, don’t spend the money on the app but get your kids a small surprise. Even if you don’t live in Germany, it’s the idea that counts. Please pass the word.
