Celebrate World Tai Chi Day with Taichi Temple iPad App and Master Li

[prMac.com] Antwerp, Belgium and Herzelia, Israel – Taichi Temple, the first motion sensor app for Tai Chi, arrives just in time to help celebrate this year’s World Tai Chi Day, offering a revolutionary new way to de-compress, relax and exercise all at the same time. Using Extreme Reality technology, this app gives an innovative approach to learning tai chi with authentic roots in traditional Chinese martial arts. From Berlin to Beijing, from Kunnamkulam to Kalamazoo, tai chi lovers can now practice cloud hands with Master Li any time, anywhere.

This year’s World Tai Chi Day will take place on Saturday, April 25th. The annual event begins in the earliest time zones of Samoa at 10 am, and then participants across Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America take part, with celebrations in eighty nations and several hundred cities, ending with the final events in the last time zones of Hawaii almost an entire day later. Celebrations include mass tai chi and qigong exhibitions in many cities, and free classes in most participating cities.

“We wanted to release Taichi Temple in time for this big day,” said app creator Rosa Mei. Mei is a professional martial artist and choreographer who has trained with Master Li for 13 years. “I grew up in a small town in North Carolina. My husband, who’s also a martial artist, grew up in a remote village north of the Arctic Circle in Norway. We didn’t have access to great martial arts teachers and had to move to larger cities to continue our training. I wanted to make an app that anyone, anywhere with a desire to learn tai chi, could use, an app with a genuine high-level master of the art form.”

“Then I added motion sensors because it’s such a cool feature and webcams on mobile devices already have that ability built in. It becomes another learning tool… plus I’m kind of a geek at heart.”

Available now for all iPads on the iTunes Store, Taichi Temple is the cool, new way to find flow through moving meditation. In under two hours, users will have a solid overview of tai chi fundamentals, including correct breathing, postures and movement terminology. They can then customize their training and track daily progress. The Extreme Reality motion technology monitors in real time how well they are syncing with Master Li, using only the iPad webcam. Users have an authentic master of tai chi as their own personal coach and training partner.

Taichi Temple is perfect for people on the go who are looking for a modern way to reduce stress and exercise at the same time. The app teaches natural breathing, balance and mental concentration through low-impact qi gong and tai chi exercises. Originally developed in China as a highly effective martial art, tai chi contains potent health benefits and has been scientifically proven to lower blood pressure and improve circulation and balance. Tai chi is now being practiced by people from all walks of life, from professional athletes to cancer survivors to legions of dedicated park practitioners all over the world.
