[prMac.com] Singapore – Bamba Ice Cream, a popular educational app where children aged two to four pretend to run an ice cream parlor, has been localized for the Japanese, Indonesian and Chinese markets. New ice cream flavors have also been added to reflect each market’s unique local tastes, such as Green Tea, Durian and Red Bean.
In Bamba Ice Cream, children get behind the counter of Bamba Town’s only ice-cream parlor. Here, they can make up various combinations of the popular dessert by choosing different cones, flavours and toppings. Parents or other children can play the role of customer and choose from an ice-cream cone, cup, banana split and more.
Since the release of Bamba Ice Cream, the app topped the charts in Sweden, Taiwan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and broke into the top 40 for Educational iPad apps in the US.
“The markets of Japan, Indonesia and China have great potential for educational apps, more so if the app caters specifically to the local culture.” states John Ng, Co-founder of Mezmedia, the studio behind the Bamba series of children’s apps. “It’s also a big opportunity for us to grow our existing user base into more non-English speaking markets.”
“A lot of research has gone into identifying popular ice cream flavours of each particular region. We hope parents and kids will appreciate the attention to detail we’ve put in for each new flavour.”
Bamba Ice Cream is available only on the iPad. All four language versions – English, Japanese, Indonesian and Simplified Chinese – are available globally.Bamba Ice Cream 1.0
