[prMac.com] Charlotte, North Carolina – einstein’s legacy is proud to announce the release of Arena 1.0.1 for Mac OS X, a new visualizer for Quartz Compositions. Arena provides a simple tool for users with kiosk and digital signage applications to render their compositions across multiple displays. Arena automatically handles the details of making a network of computers to work as a single rendering engine and provides a simple drag’n’drop interface to specify how the composition will be presented across all the displays.
“After a long development cycle, we are pleased to get this software into the hands of users who needed an alternative to Apple’s Quartz Composer Visualizer,” says einstein’s legacy Chief Product Officer Douglas A. Welton. “We believe our tool provides a quantum leap forward in usability and will enable users to focus their energies on the creative side of their projects, as opposed to low-level technical details.”
Arena 1.0.1 includes the following key features:
* The Components
Arena consist of two components: Arena, the controller, manages setup and operation, while Arena Performer handles the rendering and display of Quartz Compositions on each system in the cluster.
* The Controller
The controller (Arena) lets users load Quartz Compositions, layout the display relationships for visualizing the composition, control which systems are active in the cluster and start/stop composition playback.
* The Performer
The performer (Arena Performer) runs on each member of the cluster being used for playback. Performers handle a composition’s local rendering and display across the available screens attached to the system.
* Unlimited Canvas
Arena gives you an unlimited canvas to visually layout how each screen will be used to display the various segments of a Quartz Composition.
* Distributed Rendering
Arena renders each quartz composition locally on the configured Performer system. Once a composition is rendering, the only communication required is an occasional playback synchronization message.
* Scalable Performance
Because the Quartz Composition rendering is done locally on each performer system, the number of performer systems is only limited by the portion of network bandwidth used for synchronization.
* Easy Networking
Arena uses Bonjour to automatically discover and connect the controller with any performer systems that become available on the network.
* OS X 10.10 or higher
* Intel Processor
* 3 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Arena 1.0.1 is $29.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and is available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Video Category. Arena Performer 1.0.1 is available for free, as a separate download from the Mac App Store.einstein’s legacy
